Her work and teaching have earned her the Robert G. Byrd Award for Excellence and Creativity in Teaching, and she is a certified trainer with the National Juvenile Defender Center. A former public defender and Soros Justice Fellow, she brings firsthand experience from the courtroom to the classroom, using law as a tool for advocacy and reform.  Professor Fedders’s scholarship explores the intersections of criminal law, education, and social inequality, with a focus on school discipline, policing, and the legal regulation of LGBTQ youth.
