Career Session • Serving in the Public Sector during Uncertain Times
The Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies (CSEEES) is pleased to host a career session with Dr. Heather Ashby, CSEEES’s inaugural Professional Pathways Fellow. Dr. Ashby is an independent researcher working at the intersection of national security and technology. She previously served as Associate Director of the United States Institute of Peace’s program on disruptive technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as Acting Director of USIP’s Center for Russia and Europe. Prior to USIP, she worked for several years at the Department of Homeland Security.The session will explore why public service matters and what peacebuilding can teach us about having tough conversations, bridging differences, and avoiding polarization. It will also offer practical advice for students interested in careers in U.S. foreign policy or government as the public sector continues to evolve.
Light lunch will be provided to those who register for the event. Space is limited; register by February 1st.
