From Lab to Label: How Universities shape the cost of Medicine

February 17 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The cost of life-saving prescription drugs in the United States are unfairly expensive. Price gouging, patent abuse by pharmaceutical companies, and corporate monopolization, are just a few of the reasons why. In this panel discussion featuring knowledgeable professors and experienced researchers, we highlight the journey of why healthcare is unaffordable in the United States. We discuss the stakeholders involved, the beneficiaries, and the impact on patients that need these life-saving medications.
Join UAEM at UNC, a movement of students fighting for a more equitable healthcare system, at our latest event to learn more about what you as students can do to help every patient afford the medicine they need. Change starts from the universities that use taxpayer funds to bring about new medications from years of research. A core focus of this event is to educate and empower students to ensure that universities that innovate for the public, prioritize the public.
