Getting Started with EXSS Research

This session aims to help students consider their options for exploring research opportunities in Exercise and Sport Science! The EXSS Director of Undergraduate Research will guide you through identifying research opportunities and contacting EXSS faculty.  The session will also discuss the manners in which students can earn course credit for research participation (e.g., EXSS 395, Senior Honors Thesis). Researchers (faculty, graduate, and undergraduate) from the department will join in the latter half to share some of their research opportunities. Lastly, there will be a Q&A at the end!
This session covers the fundamentals of engaging in undergraduate research in Exercise and Sport Science! Content includes how to seek and identify research opportunities and the steps to contact faculty.  Researchers will be present to discuss current research opportunities and experiences. This content aims to help students to consider the processes needed to get involved in research and also integrate it into their current studies and future plans.
EXSS undergraduate students at all levels interested in gaining research experience, particularly first-year students, sophomores, and juniors looking to gain experience in research for current academic and future career purposes (e.g., course credit, experience for graduate school, professional programs).
