𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧, Vice Provost & Chief Global Officer at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be returning as a guest of TFED/CFED for a special conversation with UNC students and the wider community on the topic of “Global Affairs and Global Perspectives.”

As Vice Provost for Global Affairs, Ambassador Stephenson leads UNC’s global strategy and oversees international initiatives across campus. A distinguished career diplomat and former U.S. ambassador, she previously served as Dean of the Leadership and Management School at the Foreign Service Institute and is widely admired as a tireless advocate for the role of higher education in addressing complex global challenges.
In this session, she will offer updates on 𝐔𝐍𝐂 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧��, reflect on her own diplomatic career, and share perspectives on the current state of diplomacy—topics that consistently resonate with our students. Her visits have become highlights of the semester, and we are thrilled to welcome her back.
This event is inspired by members of the 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 (𝐂𝐅𝐄𝐃) and hosted by the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐟��𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 (𝐓𝐅𝐄𝐃)in close partnership with UNC Global Affairs.
I’m also pleased to note that UNC Global Affairs will be welcoming several outstanding speakers this spring, including fellow Marshall Scholars 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐮��𝐧𝐬 (𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟒) and 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐮𝐦 (𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟓). TFED/CFED programming this semester has already featured 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐣𝐮 𝐊𝐨𝐡 and 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, with additional events planned—including conversations with 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐫.
