Where Psychology Meets Health: A MAPS x Psi Chi Career Panel Discussion

November 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

This Thursday, November 13th, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, Psi Chi will be co-hosting a Career Panel with Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) focused on navigating mental health, imposter syndrome, and maintaining balance while managing academic rigor and emotional challenges. We will have three panelists joining us: Dr. Thomas Rodebaugh in the clinical psychology department, Katherine Benson, and Alison (Sonny) Russell. – Dr. Rodebaugh studies factors affecting maintenance and treatment of anxiety disorders, as well as chronic health conditions. He also investigates how intensive longitudinal data can help us understand and better treat these and related problems. Visit his lab online: https://tarheels.live/rodelab/.  – Katherine Benson is a fourth-year clinical psychology PhD student who has over 8 years of experience in clinical and translational research pertaining to the psychology and neuroscience of substance use disorders. She is currently working in the Biobehavioral Research on Addiction and Emotion (BRANE) Lab. – Sonny Russell is a second-year doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program at UNC Chapel Hill. Sonny earned a B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior at Vassar College and then spent 3 years post-bac at Dr. Julia Parish-Morris’ Social Attention and Language Lab.
